ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for medical examination and treatment.
The court directed authorities to arrange a medical board to assess his health and include his personal doctor and sister in the process. It also sought Khan’s complete medical records and ordered that regular family meetings be facilitated. Khan will remain in custody during his hospital stay.
The court’s decision follows concerns raised by his family and lawyers about his health and access to medical care while imprisoned. The order does not mean his release.
