The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today as well.
Yesterday, DG Meteorological Department Irfan Virk had said that the current spell of monsoon will continue for some days, after the monsoon spell ends, there will be a break, then the rains will start.
According to the Meteorological Department, clouds will fall in Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Garhi Dupatta, Gilgit, Skardu, Astore, rain has also been predicted in Babusar, Chilas, Gopis and Bunji.
Similarly, rain is also likely in Peshawar, Chitral, Deir, Malam Jabba, Saidu Sharif, Abbottabad, Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and clouds will fall in Sargodha, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
On the other hand, WASA high alert and rain emergency were imposed in Rawalpindi due to heavy rain. According to WASA, the highest rainfall of 115 mm was recorded in Shamsabad.
The water flow in Nala Lai is 10.5 feet at Katarian and 8.5 feet at Gowalmandi. Heavy machinery has been deployed in low-lying areas. Drainage operations are underway.
MD WASA Rawalpindi has appealed to the public not to open the lids of the drains and not to throw garbage. WASA staff and heavy machinery are deployed in low-lying areas. Continuous monitoring of Nala Lai and drains across the city is being carried out.
