TEHRAN: Iran has presented a list of demands to the US to open the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the American broadcaster CNN, this list was handed over to the US by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and the main negotiator, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
At the same time, Baqer Qalibaf demanded that the US fully implement the points of the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’, which expired yesterday.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the US and Iran agreed to stop military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, while Iran renounced its right to acquire or develop nuclear weapons.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the US agreed to end the Iranian naval blockade and Iran agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the US also agreed to lift economic sanctions on Iran and start a reconstruction plan for Iran. The US also agreed to restore Iran’s frozen funds.
