COLOMBO: The crucial match between Pakistan and New Zealand in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was called off due to rain.
In Colombo, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and decided to bat.
However, the match was delayed due to continuous rain and not a single ball could be bowled. Later, the umpires announced the cancellation of the match.
Both teams were given one point each due to the cancellation of the match due to rain.
Fakhar Zaman was included in the playing eleven in place of Khawaja Nafi for the match against New Zealand.
It should be noted that Pakistan’s second match in the Super 8 stage will be against England on February 24.
