LAHORE: The weather situation in different parts of the country is going to change once again and the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many areas today as well. Thunderstorms are expected in many districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while hot and dry weather is likely to continue in most areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in different cities and districts of Punjab. There may be thundershowers in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Lahore. Similarly, rain has also been expected in Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Layyah.
The Meteorological Department further said that there is a possibility of rain in various areas of central and southern Punjab including Mianwali, Kasur, Okara, Jhang, Faisalabad, Khanewal, Multan and Vehari, which may reduce the intensity of the heat.
Regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain hot and dry in most districts of the province, with rain expected in the upper and mountainous areas. Thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan. In addition, rain may also occur in Khyber, Waziristan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar and Swabi.
On the other hand, the weather has been predicted to remain hot and dry in most districts of Sindh. Due to sea breezes, the weather is likely to remain relatively good in Karachi, with the maximum temperature reaching 35 degrees Celsius.
Hot and dry weather will also persist in most areas of Balochistan, with rain expected in Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu and Zhob. The Meteorological Department has directed the residents of these areas to be aware of the weather situation.
