Karachi: On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has changed the date of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test 2026 and announced that the exam will now be held on September 20, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the PMDC, the decision to change the date of MDCAT has been taken with the aim of making the conduct of the exam more organized, secure, transparent and convenient for the candidates. The exam will now be held on September 20, 2026 instead of August 16.
The statement said that apart from the date of the exam, all other terms, conditions and examination arrangements will remain unchanged, however, if any change is required in the future, a separate official notification will be given regarding it.
The PMDC has directed all candidates, parents, educational institutions and other concerned parties to stay in constant touch with the official website of the council and official media for the latest information, instructions and announcements.
The council regrets any inconvenience caused by the change in the exam date and appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders.
