ISLAMABAD: Following a significant drop in oil prices in the global market, the prices of petroleum products have been reduced significantly in the country.
The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 74 per liter, after which the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 299 per liter.
Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs 67 per liter, after which diesel consumers will also get great relief.
This significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products is expected to reduce transport costs and reduce inflationary pressures.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the people have shown unprecedented patience and forbearance in difficult situations, and he is deeply grateful to the people for supporting the government in these difficult circumstances.
He said that they tried to reduce oil prices as much as possible with their own resources, the federal government saved Rs 129 billion from the development budget and through austerity, providing the people with the greatest possible relief from the huge increase in oil prices.
