ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Test cricket team has left for the West Indies under the leadership of new captain Babar Azam.
According to ARY News, the national team has left Islamabad International Airport this morning for the West Indies to play the Test series. The team will reach West Indies via Doha and London.
The Pakistan Test team will play four-day practice matches in the West Indies from July 18 to 21.
The two Test matches of the ICC World Test Championship between Pakistan and West Indies are scheduled from July 25 to August 10 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Toowoomba and Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.
Before leaving for the West Indies, the Pakistan squad trained intensively for three days at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and also played a two-day scenario-based match.
It should be noted that the PCB has reappointed star batter Babar Azam as the captain of the Test team, taking back the responsibilities from Test captain Shan Masood after continuous failures.
Under the leadership of Shan Masood, the Pakistan team lost 12 out of 16 matches, including historic and embarrassing whitewash defeats in both home and away Test series against Bangladesh.
