England have been dealt a major blow ahead of their quarter-final clash with Norway at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
England have been hit by an injury scare ahead of their quarter-final clash with Norway at the FIFA World Cup tomorrow as defender Mark Gueye has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The Manchester City centre-back is reportedly suffering from a hamstring injury.
Gueye did not attend training on Thursday and doubts remain over his participation.
If the 26-year-old defender fails to return to training ahead of the knockout match, then John Stones and Dan Byrne, who came off the bench against Mexico, are the strongest candidates to replace Gueye in central defence.
England midfielder Declan Rice, on the other hand, has also missed a second consecutive training session due to illness.
The Arsenal midfielder has also been struggling with hamstring and back problems during the tournament although sources believe Tuchel is still hopeful that both Rice and Gweihe will be available for the Norwegian.
