ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US Vice President JD Vance, during which they discussed bilateral relations and important regional issues.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also present in the meeting with JD Vance, while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also accompanied the Prime Minister from Pakistan.
According to the statement, the meeting discussed in detail the possibilities of peace, stability and mutual cooperation in the region.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehba Sharif said that Pakistan will continue its efforts to establish lasting peace in the region.
The White House has also confirmed the meeting of US Vice President JD Vance with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister’s Office statement said that important regional issues were discussed in detail in the meeting and the two countries agreed to work together for peace and stability in the region.
While, the Iranian delegation met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in which the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment that Pakistan will continue to play its sincere role as a mediator for peace and stability in the region.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson, the Iranian delegation was led by the Speaker of Iran’s Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, while the delegation was assisted by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
According to the statement, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were also present in the meeting.
According to the statement, the meeting also discussed the situation of global and regional peace, and the Prime Minister appreciated the participation of the Iranian delegation in the Islamabad talks.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan will continue its role for peace and stability in the region, and the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to continue his role as a mediator with sincerity.
