ISLAMABAD: NDMA has issued an alert for more rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in various cities of the country.
A westerly wind system will enter most parts of the country during the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority, more rain with strong winds, gusty winds is expected in most parts of the country, snowfall is expected in the upper and mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report says that rain is likely in Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujar Khan, Gujrat, Gujranwala, rain with thunderstorms is expected in Hafizabad, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin and Lahore.
According to the NDMA, rain is also expected in Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalpur, Borewala, Multan, DI Khan, Narowal, Chiniot, Nankana Sahib, Pakpattan and Sahiwal.
In addition, rain is expected in Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Astore, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, Poonch, Kotli, Neelum Valley, Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Chaman, Kohlu, Dikki and Harnai.
The National Disaster Management Authority says that there is a possibility of wind and rain in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Mingora, Battagram, Peshawar and Abbottabad. Strong winds, lightning and hail can damage weak structures, trees and power lines.
