ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority has expressed fears that this year’s heat will be higher than last year.
The first spell of heat in the first week of May was just a trailer, a severe heat wave will come in the country in a few days, a heat wave alert has been issued by the NDMA.
According to the NDMA, some areas of upper Sindh, southern Punjab and Balochistan will be gripped by severe heat in May and June, citizens have been warned that the temperature in May and June may even complete half a century.
NDMA representative Zahra Hassan said that in addition to Central Punjab, South Punjab, some places in Balochistan and the upper areas of Sindh, the temperature will remain quite high. The temperature will intensify, which will also increase the temperature of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. NDMA has not only warned of a heat wave in the coming days, it is also playing its role in preparing the relevant institutions to combat the heat. The main purpose of issuing a heat wave alert is so that the administration and other relevant institutions can make necessary arrangements in a timely manner.
