TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi described his visit to Islamabad as very useful and said that there were positive consultations with Pakistani officials.
Speaking to Iranian media upon his arrival in Moscow, Abbas Araqchi said that he came to Russia with the aim of continuing close consultations between Iran and Moscow on regional and global issues. He will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin today.
He said that the meeting with the Russian President will be a good opportunity to review the progress of the war and the current situation. He is confident that consultations and coordination between the two countries will be of particular importance.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the visit to Pakistan was very useful. Positive consultations were held with the officials during the visit to Islamabad. During the visit to Islamabad, the officials reviewed past events and the specific conditions under which Iran-US negotiations can continue.
Abbas Araqchi said that during the visit to Oman, discussions took place between the two countries on the Strait of Hormuz. Iran and Oman are coastal countries of the Strait of Hormuz, so mutual consultations are inevitable, especially at a time when safe passage through this passage has become an important global issue.
He said that as coastal countries of the Strait of Hormuz, it is natural to negotiate to protect mutual interests. As two coastal countries, we should maintain coordination in every possible step, as this is in the interests of both.
He said that there is a high-level agreement between Iran and Oman, and both countries agree that consultations will continue at the expert level as well.
