ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain and snowfall in various areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today with partly cloudy weather. Due to the ongoing rains in Peshawar, the temperature has dropped to 16 degrees Celsius.
Rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam and Shangla, while wind and rain are also expected in Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra and Abbottabad. Thunderstorms have been predicted in Balakot, Haripur, Mardan and Nowshera.
Rain is expected at most places in Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Swabi and Charsadda, while snowfall is also expected in the high mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 47 mm was recorded in Cherat yesterday, while 45 mm was recorded in Dir, 42 mm in Malam Jabba and 43 mm at Peshawar Airport.
Similarly, 28 mm of rainfall was recorded at Bacha Khan Airport and Dera Ismail Khan, while 26 mm was recorded in Parachinar. 26 mm of rainfall was recorded in Kalam, 22 mm in Bannu, 19 mm in Chitral, 18 mm in Kakul and 15 mm in Saidu Sharif.
Light rain with thunder is likely at a few places in Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Muslim Bagh and surrounding areas.
On the other hand, winds are blowing at a speed of 10 km per hour in Lahore and according to the Meteorological Department, rain can fall in the city at any time today.
The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in different parts of the country till April 4.
