Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has been ruled out of the first Test against England due to injury and Salman Agha will lead the team in his place.
Pakistan Red Ball team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, while holding a press conference in Leeds, said that Babar Azam is not available for the first Test match, the medical team is assessing his injury and it is hoped that Babar Azam will be available for the second Test match.
Sarfaraz Ahmed added that we have won the practice match, which has increased our confidence, we are fully hopeful that we will perform well.
He added that we will now decide with which combination we will play, Mohammad Abbas will be an important bowler for us in these conditions, Shan Masood is fully fit for the first Test match, all the players have worked hard.
Sarfaraz Ahmed said that Babar Azam is not playing the first Test but he is in form, the batters including Saud Shakeel are performing well, it is hoped that the middle order will play a good game.
He further said that if Babar Azam were in charge, he would try to create different combinations. When you don’t have a key player, there is a setback, but he has confidence in all the players.
