ISLAMABAD: Ramadan 2026 has begun around the world, including Pakistan. While in some countries the first fast has been observed on Wednesday. According to astronomical estimates, the duration of fasting this year will be relatively moderate and bearable.
According to experts, in the early days of Ramadan, the duration of fasting in most Arab countries and various parts of Asia will be about 12 to 13 hours. Since the holy month is coming at the end of winter and the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere. Therefore, the duration of the day will gradually increase during the month. And fasting may be somewhat longer in the last days.
In Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, the duration of fasting is expected to be about 12 and a half to 14 hours. While in the Middle East, an average of 12 to 13 hours of fasting will be observed.
In most parts of Europe and North America, there will be a 12 to 13 hour fast initially. However, in countries with high latitudes, this duration can go up to 14 to 16 hours.
Fasting is expected to last approximately 12 to 13 hours in Southeast Asia, while 13 to 15 hours in some countries in the Southern Hemisphere. The final timings will depend on local crescent sighting and geographic location.
