The Pakistan ATP Challenger Cup 2025 concluded with great success at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad, marking a monumental achievement in the country’s sporting landscape. The week-long event brought together 25 international players from 14 countries, alongside 10 of Pakistan’s leading national players.
This prestigious tournament officially established Pakistan as a new and promising destination on the global tennis map, as it was the first ATP Challenger event ever hosted in the country. Elias Ymer of Sweden, ranked 169 in the ATP World/PIF Rankings, entered as the top seed, while Jay Clarke of Great Britain, ranked 213, was seeded second.
The tournament also marked the final ATP Challenger Tour appearance of Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Pakistan’s most decorated and globally recognized tennis icon. His participation added further prestige to the inaugural edition of the Pakistan ATP Challenger Cup.
In the men’s singles final, Jay Clarke of Great Britain delivered a commanding performance to defeat Mert Alkaya of Turkey with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-1, securing the maiden singles title of the Pakistan ATP Challenger Cup 2025.
In the men’s doubles final, Dominik Palan of the Czech Republic and Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan clinched the doubles title after defeating Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Muzammil Murtaza 7-6(3), 6-4 in an exciting final.
The closing ceremony was graced by Maj. Gen. Usman-ul-Haq, Director Fauji Foundation, who served as the chief guest. Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President PTF, attended as the guest of honor and distributed the prizes alongside Lt. Col. (R) Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary-General PTF.
The event was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, Senior PTF leadership, officials, prominent sports personalities, media representatives, and a large gathering of enthusiastic tennis fans, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere at the PTF Tennis Complex.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President PTF congratulated the champions, finalists, and all participants. He emphasized that hosting Pakistan’s first-ever ATP Challenger Tournament is a landmark accomplishment and expressed optimism about organizing more international tournaments in the future to further promote tennis in the country.
The Secretary-General PTF thanked all the sponsors for their invaluable support in making the event a success. International players praised Pakistan’s exceptional hospitality, world-class arrangements, delicious cuisine, and the scenic beauty of Islamabad.
