The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in most parts of the country, due to which urban flooding has been predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and various cities of Punjab, while landslides have been predicted in mountainous areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is likely in various districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. Rain with strong winds is expected in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Faisalabad and Multan.
There is a risk of flooding in the rivers and canals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, especially Nala Lai, while water has been predicted in the low-lying areas of Gujranwala, Sialkot and Lahore.
Rain is also expected in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohat and DI Khan.
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of landslides due to heavy rain in Murree, Galiat, the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, which may affect transportation routes.
On the other hand, the weather has been predicted to be hot and humid in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan, however, there is a possibility of thundershowers in Zhob, Khuzdar, Musakhel and Barkhan.
The administration and the Meteorological Department have directed citizens and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during the rain and to take special precautions in mountainous and low-lying areas.
