LAHORE: A new monsoon rain system has entered Pakistan, due to which light and heavy rain is expected in most districts of Punjab including Lahore today.
According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore will continue to see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, while light rain is expected after noon.
The minimum temperature in the city is likely to reach 31 degrees Celsius while the maximum is likely to reach 39 degrees Celsius.
In view of the possible rains, PDMA Punjab has issued an alert to all district administrations and directed them to make advance security arrangements in low-lying areas and sensitive places.
On the other hand, MD WASA Ghufran Ahmed has also ordered all operational staff to be on high alert due to the possibility of rain in Lahore.
He says that officers and field staff will continue to perform their duties until the rain water is completely drained from the city’s highways and low-lying areas.
Authorities have also instructed citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during the rain and to monitor the latest weather conditions.
