The United States has announced the deployment of 5,000 additional troops to Poland, reversing earlier discussions about reducing its military presence in Europe. The move comes amid growing regional security concerns and continued support for NATO’s eastern flank.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed the decision, saying the alliance would continue to support stability “wherever we can help,” including around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
The latest deployment strengthens the existing U.S. military presence in Poland, which already hosts thousands of NATO and American personnel as part of regional defense and deterrence efforts.
