Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again postponed a possible major attack on Iran at the request of Pakistan’s Field Marshal (Army Chief) General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
President Trump said in his statement that he is extending the ceasefire until the end of the talks.
He said that at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he is instructing the US military to continue the blockade while stopping the attacks.
Despite the fact that the Iranian government is in a serious state of collapse, we have been told not to attack Iran yet, we are stopping the attacks on Iran so that the Iranian leaders can make a proposal.
Trump said that he has instructed the US military to continue the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and to be ready for all other matters.
He said that the ceasefire will be extended until Iran’s proposals are presented and the talks are completed in one way or another.
Earlier, a statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that a decision has not yet been made on the Iranian delegation’s visit to Islamabad for talks with the US.
Spokesperson Esmail Baqai said that there is serious concern over the US naval blockade, the seizure of an Iranian ship and the threats of US President Donald Trump. We went to the talks in good faith and seriously, but US officials showed lack of seriousness.
