TEHRAN: Footage showing the rescue of the pilot of a US fighter jet that crashed in Iran has been released after five months.
The video documents the rescue of the pilot and the weapon systems officer from the US fighter jet, which crashed near Isfahan, Iran.
According to US media, the footage shows a helicopter landing and Special Operations Command personnel rescuing the pilot and the weapon systems officer.
Reports indicate that the US serviceman suffered fractures to his back, shoulder, and arm due to a parachute malfunction after ejecting from the aircraft.
US media reports state that the injured serviceman managed to evade Iranian forces for approximately two days, saving his life by climbing a mountain rising to an altitude of about 7,000 feet.
Subsequently, US Special Operations forces arrived in the area and safely rescued both personnel.
