MUMBAI: India qualified for the final by defeating England by 7 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after an exciting match.
The England team could score 246 runs in pursuit of India’s target of 254 runs.
In the match played in Mumbai, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and invited India to bat first.
India’s innings
India scored 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sanju Samson stood out for India by scoring 89 runs.
In addition, Shivam Dube scored 43, Ishan Kishan 39, Suryakumar Yadav 11, Hardik Pandya 27 and Tilak Verma scored 21 runs. Will Jacques and Adil Rashid took 2 wickets each for England.
England’s innings
Chasing a target of 254 runs, the England team was able to reach 246 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
For England, Jacob Bethell played a brilliant innings of 105 runs. Will Jacks scored 35 and Jos Buttler scored 25 runs.
For India, Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets.
The final of the T20 World Cup will be held on Sunday, March 8, between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
It should be noted that in the first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup, New Zealand defeated South Africa to qualify for the final.
