WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has praised Field Marshal General Asim Munir’s performance, calling Pakistan a priority for future talks with Iran.
In a conversation with a reporter from the American newspaper New York Post, Trump said that you should stay there because something could happen in the next two days and we are more inclined to go to Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan is more likely to be chosen for the talks because ‘the Field Marshal is doing an excellent job’.
Trump praised Field Marshal Asim Munir and said that due to his performance, the US is considering going to Pakistan again for talks.
According to the American newspaper, Trump initially denied that the US delegation would go to Pakistan for talks in a conversation with the newspaper reporter, but after some time, Trump called again and hinted at the next round of talks in Pakistan.
It should be noted that news is circulating rapidly that another round of talks between the US and Iran will soon be held in Islamabad.
Earlier, Iranian officials told Pakistani Private News Channel that they are ready for talks, but the other side is unknown. If there is a second round of talks, Pakistan is our priority.
It should be noted that the British news agency Reuters has reported, citing sources, that delegations from the United States and Iran may return to Islamabad this week for peace talks.
On the other hand, an official from the Iranian embassy in Pakistan also told Reuters that the next round of US-Iran talks could take place this week or early next week.
