RIYADH: Saudi Arabia withdraws 15-year age restriction for Hajj a few hours later.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) said that Saudi Arabia has withdrawn the 15-year age restriction for Hajj and has restored permission for children above the age of 12 to perform Hajj.
According to the PAA, the previous policy has been restored by lifting the ban on pilgrims below the age of 15, under which pilgrims aged 12 or above have been declared eligible for Hajj.
The PAA says that visas rejected under the 15-year ban will be reprocessed.
It should be noted that a few hours ago, the PAA had informed that a ban has been imposed on taking children below the age of 15 for Hajj and from May 3, 2026, pilgrims below the age of 15 will not be allowed to travel on Hajj flights and their Hajj visas have also been declared cancelled.
However, within hours, Saudi Arabia lifted the 15-year-old age restriction for Hajj, and now pilgrims aged 12 or older will be able to go for Hajj.
