MOSCOW: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
According to the Russian news agency, Russian President Putin said that he had received a message from the Supreme Leader of Iran. President Putin also expressed his best wishes for the Supreme Leader of Iran and asked Abbas Araqchi to convey his best wishes to the Supreme Leader.
According to Russian media, President Putin said that he hopes that the Iranian people will overcome this difficult period and peace will be established. Russia will do everything possible in the interests of Iran and the countries of the region.
The Russian president added that Russia intends to continue strategic relations with Iran.
Speaking at the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that Russia-Iran relations are based on a strategic partnership that will continue to strengthen.
According to the Russian news agency, Abbas Araqchi thanked Russia and President Putin for Iran’s support.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had arrived in the northwestern city of St. Petersburg, Russia.
