TEHRAN: Iran has claimed that it has shot down a US advanced fighter jet F-35 and captured its pilot.
According to a foreign news agency, Iranian officials have claimed that a US plane that entered Iranian airspace was targeted. After which the pilot was also detained.
US forces have been conducting search operations for the past several hours using Black Hawk helicopters and C-130 Hercules aircraft. However, the recovery of the pilot has not been possible yet.
On the other hand, US officials have confirmed that a fighter jet was shot down in Iran and said that the search for the crew is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the ongoing war between the US and Israel against Iran has entered its 35th day. And the scope of the attacks has spread to the capital Tehran and its surroundings. In the recent attacks, Iran’s medical research institutions, industrial facilities and an important bridge were targeted.
US officials maintain that the bridge in question was being used for military purposes. While Iran has called the attack a violation of international law, calling it civilian infrastructure.
