ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with strong winds, gusty winds and thundershowers in several areas of Upper Sindh, South-East Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab and North-East Balochistan. Heavy rain and heavy downpour are also likely at a few places today.
The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain with strong winds, gusty winds and thundershowers in Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab and North-East Balochistan and during this, there is a possibility of heavy downpour at a few places. Heavy downpour at some places is also likely in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of inundation of low-lying areas due to heavy rains in Sheikhupura, Kasur, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Peshawar, Nowshera.
During the heavy rains, there is also a possibility of landslides in the hilly areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Shangla, Abbottabad), Murree, Galiat and Kashmir.
There is a possibility of flooding in the hilly rivers and streams of Kashmir, Murree, Galiat, North-East Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Dera Ghazi Khan.
In addition to the weather being partly cloudy in Islamabad and its surroundings, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. During this time, there is a possibility of heavy rain at a few places.
Rain with strong winds/winds and thundershowers is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Karak, D.I. Khan, Bannu and Waziristan. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places during this period.
Rain with strong winds/winds and thundershowers is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addo, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places during this period.
The weather is hot and humid in most districts of Sindh while the southern/southeastern districts are expected to remain partly cloudy with thundershowers at a few places.
The weather is likely to remain hot and humid in most districts of Balochistan. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is likely at a few places in Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Kohlo, Dera Bugti and surrounding areas.
In addition to being cloudy in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is likely. While heavy rain is also expected at a few places in Kashmir.
During the last 24 hours (from 05:00 PM yesterday to 05:00 PM today), rain with strong winds and thundershowers was recorded in Sindh, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kashmir while heavy rain was recorded at a few places. The weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Sindh at Tando Jam 147, Chhor 140, Mithi 119, Mirpurkhas 90, Badin 74, Hyderabad (Airport 58, City 46), Thatta 14, Padidan 01 mm. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dir 61, Malam Jabba 25, Cherat 22, Balakot 22, Kakol 18, Parachinar 06 mm. In Kashmir, Garhi Dupatta 60, Muzaffarabad (City 45, Airport 32) mm. In Balochistan, Barkhan 29, Khuzdar 01, Punjab: Gujranwala 22, Murree 12, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot (Airport) 08, Karor (Leh) 04, Multan (Airport) 01 mm.
