Colombo: In the Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup, England easily defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets and qualified for the semi-finals thanks to a brilliant century by Heir Brook.
In the match played in Pallekele, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and decided to bat first.
Pakistan scored 164 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, England easily achieved Pakistan’s target for the loss of 8 wickets in the last over.
One change was made in the Pakistan team for the match against England. Shaheen Afridi was made part of the playing eleven in place of Faheem Ashraf.
The Pakistani team included captain Salman Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Salman Mirza, Usman Tariq, Muhammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan.
