MIRPUR: In the last and deciding match of the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 11 runs to win the series 1-2.
In the last and deciding match of the three-match ODI series played in Mirpur, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field against Bangladesh.
Bangladesh had given Pakistan a target of 291 runs to win, to which the national team was bowled out for 279 runs off the last ball.
Batting first, the host team scored 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Bangladesh’s Tanzeed Hasan played an innings of 107 runs while Liton Das scored 41, Saif Hasan scored 36 and Najamul Hasan Shanto scored 27 runs, while Tohid Haridway played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets, while Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed took one wicket each.
The Pakistani team struggled from the start in pursuit of the target, but thanks to Salman Agha’s brilliant century, the team came close to victory, but could not achieve it.
Chasing a target of 291 runs, the Pakistani team was bowled out for 279 runs off the last ball.
Salman Ali Agha played an innings of 106 runs, he hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. Apart from them, Saad Masood scored 38, Shaheen Afridi scored 37 and Abdul Samad scored 34 runs.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took four wickets, Mustafizur Rahman three and Naheed Rana two wickets.
It should be noted that Bangladesh won the ODI series played between the two countries after 11 years.
The Pakistan team for the third ODI against Bangladesh included Sahibzada Farhan, Moaz Sadaqat, Ghazi Ghauri, Muhammad Rizwan, Salman Agha, Abdul Samad, Saad Masood, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed.
It should be noted that the Pakistan cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 128 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method in the second ODI of the 3-match series, while Bangladesh had won the first ODI.
