ISLAMABAD: As soon as the new monsoon system entered the country, torrential rains began in various cities, which significantly reduced the intensity of the heat.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi received heavy rains with thunder, while many cities of Punjab including Lahore also received heavy rains. The hilly areas of Gujarat were flooded, while the weather was pleasant in Hafizabad, Daska and Wazirabad.
On the other hand, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that there is a risk of landslides in the northern areas due to monsoon rains, and there is also a risk of flooding in the mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir.
