KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the intense heat wave is expected to continue in most districts of Sindh until May 31.
The Meteorological Department said that during this period, the temperature in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu and Nawabshah may rise to 47 to 50 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Mohenjodaro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Khairpur is also predicted to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than normal.
During this period, the temperature in Tharparkar, Badin, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Jamshoro is likely to remain between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius. Authorities have been directed to remain alert and take precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incident.
The Meteorological Department also said that the weather in Karachi is likely to remain hot and humid for the next three days, with strong winds likely to blow intermittently today.
According to the forecast, the temperature in Karachi today and tomorrow may reach 37 degrees Celsius, while on Saturday the mercury may reach 38 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly sea winds will continue to blow in the city.
