ISLAMABAD: Rains and snowfall are predicted in the upper parts of the country, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 12 to 17, while the weather is expected to be hot and dry in Sindh and Balochistan, with temperatures above normal at some places.
According to the alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority, a new series of rains is likely to occur intermittently in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 12 to 17. Along with this, snowfall is also possible in the upper parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa next week. While intense heat and above-normal temperatures are likely to be recorded in some places in Sindh and Balochistan.
The NDMA has warned that strong winds, lightning and hail can damage trees and power lines. There is a possibility of roads becoming slippery due to rain and traffic flow being affected. In view of the fears of landslides in mountainous areas, the provincial and district administrations have also been instructed to keep arrangements in place.
