ISLAMABAD: Two drones flying near Faizabad, the junction of Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the federal capital, were destroyed by the Pakistani Air Defense.
These two basic drones were flying in the area. They were shot down. Their photos have also been released.
One drone was above the Faizabad Interchange and the other was near the I-8 sector.
The airspace was closed for a few minutes due to security concerns. But the airspace of Islamabad was cleared immediately and flight traffic is continuing as usual after that.
According to sources, the drone was local in nature and is also being shown to have come from Afghanistan.
Earlier, a drone was also shot down in Kohat. Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafi Jan said in a statement that a special team of Kohat police took timely action and jammed the suspected drone through an anti-drone system.
According to him, the drone’s signals were jammed through anti-drone technology, after which the drone fell to the ground after the motor stopped. He confirmed that two people were injured when the drone’s debris fell.
Meanwhile, two girls were injured when a drone crashed in Sarghoorgai, a suburb of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority has said that minor operational adjustments were made in flight operations at Islamabad International Airport for some time today due to operational reasons. All flights at the airport are now operating as usual. Passengers are requested to contact the relevant airline for information about their flights.
Security was higher than usual in Islamabad on Friday and the entrances of the entire city were closed with containers.
