Karachi: Additional IG Karachi Police Azad Khan has dismissed the possibility of sabotage in the initial investigation of the Gul Plaza incident.
Speaking to the media after reaching Gul Plaza, Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan said that according to initial investigations, there is no evidence of any sabotage in the incident. However, there is a concern that the number of casualties may increase due to the fire.
Following the police chief’s statement, rumors about arson at Gul Plaza have been dispelled.
He stated that the fire at Gul Plaza broke out at 10:20 PM on Saturday night. It started from the ground floor and spread up to the third floor. Due to intense fire, several parts of the building collapsed, while multiple people died from suffocation caused by the smoke.
