DHAKA: Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid has been sentenced to 5 years in prison in a corruption case.
According to Bangladeshi media, Sheikh Hasina’s sister has been sentenced to 7 years in prison, in addition to Sheikh Hasina’s niece and British MP Tulip Siddique has been sentenced to 2 years in prison.
According to Bangladeshi media, the other accused named in the corruption case were sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. The accused were accused of buying a plot in Dhaka’s diplomat area through influence.
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina has also been sentenced to death and 21 years in prison in two different cases.
