ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in various parts of the country from January 31 to February 3, with snowfall also expected in the mountainous areas.
According to the report issued by the agency, light rain is expected at intervals in Islamabad, Khuzdar Potohar, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala and surrounding areas from February 1 to February 3.
Light rain and snowfall are expected in Murree, Galiyat and adjacent areas from February 1 to 3. Rain and snowfall with strong winds are expected in the northern areas of Balochistan from January 31 to February 1.
Snowfall in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, and Mansehra is likely to cause slippage on the roads and affect traffic flow.
Traffic flow is also expected to be affected due to snowfall in Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Bagh and surrounding areas.
There is a risk of slippery roads in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Har Nai and Zhob during January 31 and February 1.
There is a risk of landslides in the mountainous areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Tourists have been advised to be cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
