Dambulla: Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 14 runs in the final match of the 3-match T20 series.
The final and decisive match of the series played in Dambulla was delayed due to rain and the match was reduced to 12 overs.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to field against the hosts Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 160 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
For Sri Lanka, captain Dasun Shanaka scored 34 runs, Kusal Mendis scored 30 runs. Janath Liange and Dananjaya de Silva scored 22 runs each.
For Pakistan, Wasim Junior took 3 wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 161 runs, the Pakistani team could score 146 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 12 overs.
After Sri Lanka’s victory in the third match, the series was leveled at 1-1. The first match was won by Pakistan while the second was cancelled due to rain.
