ISLAMABAD: Severe Cold and Dense Fog Grip Large Parts of the Country. The weather is likely to remain cold and dry in most parts of the country, while severe cold may be experienced in the hilly areas during the morning and night hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate to severe fog in the plain areas of Punjab, Upper Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is likely to affect normal life.
The Meteorological Department said that during the last 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, while it was severe in the hilly areas.
Fog remained in several districts of Punjab, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Sindh, which significantly reduced visibility.
According to the minimum temperature recorded today, the mercury in Leh dropped to minus 11 degrees Celsius.
Minus 5 was recorded in Gopis and Kalat, minus 4 in Skardu and Astore, while minus 3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Parachinar, Malam Jabba and Hunza. The minimum temperature in Kalam, Quetta and Rawalakot was minus 2 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has directed citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures in view of the severe cold and fog.
